What is the Atkins diets and other low carb foods diets all about?

Low carb foods diets, like the Atkins (or as some spell it mistakenly, the Adkins diet), sugar busters, protein power, zone diet, etc., profess that people don't get fat from eating fat directly, like in meat, bacon, butter, etc., but from carbohydrates like sugar or baked goods that the human body makes into fat.  While such diets are defamed by many organizations and nutritional experts, word of mouth results caused it to spread like wild fire, and new scientific evidence backed up Dr. Atkins claims. It has converted many, but some still say further studies need to be conducted. For more info please see our new site.
